Monday 31st July - Windsurf ** - cloudy with light rain :).

Foil - 20.20 knot max, 17.69 knot ave, 6.23 knot hour, 15.48 knot mile, 24.74 km., 14.00 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storrm 6.5.

The summer seems to have disappeared and after loads of rain yesterday afternoon we woke to a gloomy day, with a sailable breeze forecast I once again headed ove to Levington Marina with Mag coming later with lunch:) It did not look overly promising when I arrived around 9.15, set up my foil board, with my shortie still wet from yesterday I trried my bargain ION wetsuit and very good it was too, there looked just enough breeze for my 6.5 so rigged that. On the water at ten I had a few nice runs, actually going slightly faster than the much windier yesterday! Sadly although I was actually on the water the best part of two hours the wind was extremely patchy and I spent the session playing hunt the gust! After a few runs on the corner I beat up river to the dinghy pontoon where a group of kids were having fun in boats as the wind went really light, we had some rain too which was not pleasant so not the best so headed back. I had showered and backed up before Mag appeared at 12.30, taking the bus to Trimley, then walking the last 2.40 miles luckily avoiding the rain. We enjoyed a yummy roll in the van as more rain passed over!
July has been my best month of the year so far with 14 sessions sailing a total of 418 miles:) August is looking promising with Wednesday looking particularly breezy, Point Clear might be good but just can?t be bothered to travel farr these days, we must have a great carbon footprint these days :)

PS - got lucky today when one of my pics of the boats today at Levington was used on the local weather on both the BBC and ITV - got lucky :)
